Job summary

Howmet Aerospace Inc. in Kingston, NY seeks a R&D Machinist to support product design engineering, perform machining, assembly and troubleshooting of pre-production, low-volume specials and customer requests. Report to the Lead Design Engineer at the Kingston facility with on-site work.

The role requires 5+ years in manual and CNC lathe/mill/grinding work and ITAR eligibility. Salary is $75,000–$85,000 with comprehensive benefits and a strong focus on quality and process improvements.

Qualifications

• Five (5) years' experience in manual and CNC lathes, mills and grinding operation.
• ITAR requires U.S. person status and visa sponsorship is not available.
• This position entails access to export-controlled items.

Responsibilities

• Machining of engineering pre-production components.
• Modification of existing products for special applications.
• Assembly and test of experimental installation equipment.
• Recommend engineering improvements to enhance product function and ease of manufacture.
• Fabricate parts for the repair of manufacturing equipment.
• Assist manufacturing in special fixes required to meet production requirements.
