Re:Build Manufacturing in Commerce City, CO seeks an experienced R&D Machine and Controls Engineer to design, wire, and program automated systems from concept to startup. You will collaborate across mechanical, electrical, and controls disciplines on custom automation and new manufacturing processes.

The role emphasizes rapid prototyping, testing, and iteration in a fast-paced environment, with opportunities to work across teams and build complete systems.

Qualifications

• 5-10 years of experience building machinery.
• Experience across mechanical, electrical, and controls disciplines.
• Hands-on PLC programming experience.
• Understanding of robotics, sensors, HMIs, pneumatics, hydraulics, and large industrial systems.
• Ability to design or modify machine components and integrate with controls.
• Fast learner who adapts quickly and works across silos.
• Enjoys building, testing, breaking, and improving.

Responsibilities

• Design and modify machine components, assemblies, and systems.
• Program and troubleshoot control systems including PLCs, robotics, motor controls, sensors, HMIs, pneumatics, and hydraulics.
• Rapidly prototype and test new machines and control strategies.
• Work across mechanical design, electrical integration, and controls programming.
• Iterate quickly based on real-world testing and feedback.
• Collaborate closely with machine designers, fabricators, and management.
• Build and commission complete systems from design through controls startup.
• Solve complex problems that span disciplines.
