Job summary

GE Vernova is seeking an innovative R&D Electrical Engineer to advance the next generation of Power Capacitors and Instrument Transformers. You will bridge theory and deployment, acting as the technical engine behind feasibility studies for new grid technologies.

From initial design and rapid prototyping to rigorous testing and cost optimization, you will contribute to high-impact power solutions that keep the grid efficient and secure.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering/Technology (or equivalent) or 6 years of relevant industry experience.
  • At least 3 years of advanced experience in Electrical Engineering.

Responsibilities

  • Conceptual or theoretical activities related to study/research and application of electricity, electronics, and electromagnetism for Power Capacitors and Instrument Transformers.
  • Develop in-depth knowledge of power capacitor and instrument transformer disciplines.
  • Apply experience and technical expertise to execute policy/strategy.
  • Understand business drivers and how own work fits within the team and broader area.
  • Propose alternative solutions with guidance.
  • Leverage prior experience and on-the-job training to solve tasks.

Job Description Summary

Are you passionate about driving the future of grid reliability? We are looking for an innovative R&D Electrical Engineer to join our team, focusing on the next generation of Power Capacitors and Instrument Transformers. In this role, you will bridge the gap between theoretical concept and real-world deployment. You won’t just be following processes; you will be the technical engine behind proving the feasibility of new technologies that keep the power grid efficient and secure. From initial design and rapid prototyping to rigorous testing and cost-optimization analysis, you will play a critical role in bringing high-impact power solutions to market.

Roles and Responsibilities
  • Conceptual or theoretical activities that deals with the study/research and application of electricity, electronics, and electromagnetism for Power Capacitors and Instrument Transformers.
  • Developing in-depth knowledge of a technical discipline for power capacitors and instruments transformers.
  • Uses prior experience and acquired technical expertise to execute policy/strategy.
  • In-depth understanding of key business drivers; uses this understanding to accomplish own work.
  • In-depth understanding of how work of own team integrates with other teams and contributes to the area.
  • Uses some level of judgment and has ability to propose different solutions outside of set parameters but with guidance.
  • Uses prior experience and on-the-job training to solve straightforward tasks.
  • Has access to technical skills and analytic thinking required to solve problems.
  • May use multiple internal sources outside of own team to arrive at decisions.
  • A job at this level is likely to be an individual contributor with proven interpersonal skills with some autonomy but is focused on execution of activities within an operating discipline covered by standard functional practices and procedures.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering/Technology (or equivalent) OR a high school diploma/GED with 6 years of relevant industry experience.
  • A minimum of 3 years of advanced experience in Electrical Engineering is required.

Relocation Assistance Provided: No For candidates applying to a U.S. based position, the pay range for this position is between $89,300.00 and $148,700.00.

The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set.

Bonus eligibility: discretionary annual bonus.
