Job summary

Pure Lithium is seeking a hands-on Technician to support our R&D department in a laboratory and glovebox setting in Chicago. You will work with research associates and scientists to perform general lab experiments, follow SOPs, and help with data collection and equipment maintenance.

The role requires attention to detail, safety, and a willingness to learn new tools and techniques. Applicants with 2+ years as a technician or lab assistant and comfort using Jira or MS Office are preferred.

Qualifications

• 2-year degree preferred but not mandatory.
• 2+ years of experience as a technician/lab assistant or similar.
• Willingness to learn new techniques/methods.
• Follow SOPs and lab safety rules.
• Proficient with basic computer tasks (web-based PM software and file management).
• Desire to work in a fast-paced start-up environment.
• Ability to provide engineering/materials solutions to technical problems.

Responsibilities

• Work in a laboratory setting with hazardous chemicals under guidance.
• Follow daily/weekly schedules and complete tasks on time.
• Communicate with managers to receive assigned work.
• Maintain key equipment and keep the lab running smoothly.
• Record and report data to the correct owners.
• Collaborate with senior scientists on multi-week experiments.
• Support safety, organization, and scale-up efforts.
