Job summary

Cardinal Health, Inc. is seeking an R&D Technician II to provide hands-on technical and laboratory support for medical device product development and sustaining activities.

You will work with R&D Engineering, Quality and Manufacturing to run established test methods, document results, and manage routine lab tasks. The role emphasizes equipment operation, data traceability under GDP, and cross-functional communication to drive improvements in methods, fixtures and processes.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED or equivalent work experience preferred.
• Associate degree or two-year technical degree in engineering technology, mechanical technology, laboratory science, or related field is desired.
• Experience in R&D, medical-device, quality, or lab testing environment preferred.
• Experience with mechanical or physical-property testing is preferred.
• Experience with universal testing equipment such as Instron or similar systems is preferred.
• Experience developing or improving laboratory test setups and fixtures is preferred.
• Ability to read engineering drawings, specifications, and dimensional requirements.
• Proficiency with basic software and GDP documentation.

Responsibilities

• Perform laboratory testing and product evaluations on prototypes, components and finished devices according to approved protocols and methods.
• Prepare test samples, fixtures, and set up instrumentation to support V&V and product investigations.
• Accurately document test conditions, raw data, calculations, deviations and equipment issues per GDP.
• Operate, maintain, calibrate, qualify and perform preventive maintenance on lab equipment.
• Communicate testing status and results to engineering teams and manage multiple priorities.
