Job description

Airswift has been tasked by one of our major clients to find a R&D Lab Technician for a 1-year contract (likely to be extended) in Aurora, NC. This Laboratory Technician position is responsible for sample retrieval in the field, preparation of sampling, and reporting. As the plant is a startup, the lab tech will also assist in creating processes, SOPs, and developing the lab. The role involves a 12-hour rotating shift; Airswift can discuss the rotation schedule further.

Responsibilities

• Perform lab activities, such as setting up laboratory equipment and preparing chemical solutions.
• Conduct tests, interpret and analyze data, compile results, prepare reports, and present conclusions.
• Document every test result carefully, recording all variables (chemical type, amount, compound components, chemical temperature, test duration).
• Adhere to safety standards during laboratory testing by wearing protective clothing and taking additional precautions as needed.
• Improve current formulations of products when needed.
• Calibrate equipment and troubleshoot issues with lab equipment and processes.
