R&D Lab Engineer

Location: Buffalo Grove, IL

We are looking for an R&D Lab Engineer to support product development and testing in the Appliance testing laboratory for LG Home appliances. The role requires a creative mindset, engineering and analytical aptitude.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

• New product development support: provide engineering insight, screen and analyse performance, statistically evaluate data, assess current design weaknesses, prototype improvements using CAD and analysis tools, communicate with R&D and factory labs.
• Performance Lab Functions: create internal testing protocols, adapt CR testing protocols, manage testing plans, benchmark competitor products, research new testing equipment and methods, program visual analysis tools, build automated data analysis systems, create custom reporting structures.
• Consumer usage understanding & testing method creation support: verify new usage protocols, develop testing methods based on VOC/FFR/customer data, run statistical analysis for protocol creation, program automatic testing templates, impact DOE/AHAM/EPA standards with expert input.
• High-level data acquisition and analysis: understand acquisition hardware/software, design acquisition models, guide lab technicians to use technical resources.

Recruiting Range: $52,700 – $62,000 USD
