Job summary

Syngenta Seeds Field Crops in Woodland, CA offers an Emerging Talent Program internship in R&D, with hands‑on work in greenhouse and field breeding trials, phenotyping, data management, seed handling, and seasonal operations.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate or graduate student in a related plant science field.
• Must continue education after the internship and not graduate before Dec 2027.
• Willingness to relocate to Woodland, CA for the duration.
• Ability to work in field and greenhouse environments and perform physical tasks.
• Strong attention to detail, organization and record keeping.
• Basic data management and collaborative teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with greenhouse and field breeding trials including planting, irrigation, and harvesting.
• Conduct phenotypic evaluations and support crossing activities.
• Collect and organize research observations and performance data.
• Enter and validate data using spreadsheets and breeding data systems.
• Harvest, label, and maintain seed stocks and germplasm inventories.
• Support field-day prep and collaborate across teams for timely execution.
• Maintain records and follow safety and quality standards.
• Build understanding of market needs to support product development.
