ABB Inc. invites an engineeringIntern to Florence, SC for onsite/hybrid work, gaining hands-on experience in product design, documentation, and regulatory compliance.

You will participate in agile sprints, learn to manage backlogs, and collaborate with R&D teams to deliver quality designs. You will develop skills in Creo/Windchill, apply Six Sigma and design-for-reliability methods, and create user stories in Azure DevOps while contributing to reviews and project milestones in an environment

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s or master’s degree program in Mechanical, Electrical or Mechatronics Engineering in the United States.
• Intern must have reliable transportation to and from the worksite.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship now and in the future.
• Ability to analyze complex situations and develop strategic solutions.

Responsibilities

• Get exposure to design, develop, analyze, and document product designs meeting functional, cost, reliability, manufacturability, and safety requirements.
• Learn to work in Agile environment, pull backlog items and deliver to acceptance criteria.
• Demonstrate conformance to Product Technical Specifications using Design for Six Sigma and Design for Reliability methodologies.
• Create and maintain User stories in Azure DevOps with supporting documentation for design work and present material for technical reviews.
• Create designs with Solid Modeling software (PTC Creo/Windchill) to make models, drawings, and BOMs.
• Prepare and maintain product documentation, manuals, notebooks, design/test docs and regulatory standards UL/CSA/NEC.
• Participate in design reviews and cross-functional team collaboration with purchasing and manufacturing.
