Job summary
Santa Cruz Bicycles in Santa Cruz, California, seeks an experienced R&D Fabricator to bridge digital design and real-world frames. You will fabricate prototype frames, design fixtures, and build test lab equipment, reporting to the R&D Lab Manager at our Santa Cruz Factory.
You will use Creo to model parts, work with engineers to improve bike assembly, and perform manual machining while maintaining a safe, organized shop. Relocation packages are available and there is no remote work.
Qualifications
- 8+ years as a fabricator for bicycles or similar precision frames.
- Proficient TIG welding of aluminum and steel.
- Skilled with manual mill and lathe and fixture fabrication.
- Experience delivering full-suspension frame components.
- CAD experience with Creo and clearly dimensioned drawings.
- Knowledge of carbon/aluminum bonding and 6000 series heat treatment is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Fabricate prototype bicycle frames with elite accuracy.
- Design and build fixtures and test lab equipment for engineering.
- Model parts and fixtures in Creo and generate drawings.
- Collaborate with production engineering to support Santa Cruz assembly.
- Perform manual machining and maintain a clean workspace.
