Job summary

Ultra Clean Technology in Hillsboro, OR seeks an R&D Engineer III to plan, develop and test new technologies for production processes in the semiconductor cleaning domain. You will work with cross-functional teams to introduce new processes that meet customer needs while ensuring quality and compliance.

Responsibilities include designing DOE studies, developing process control strategies, protecting IP, presenting findings to customers, and supporting the Commercial team with technical material.

Qualifications

• Background in engineering, chemistry or physics to develop coatings and cleaning methods.
• Experience with statistical design of experiments and data analysis.
• Experience with SPC programs and statistical process control.
• Strong technical writing skills.
• Knowledge of semiconductor tools, materials and processing.
• Ability to present research to customers and protect IP.

Responsibilities

• Research, propose and develop new process technologies to improve safety, cost, process time, and capability.
• Design, direct and publish DOE studies for process feasibility and optimization.
• Develop process control strategies for new and existing processes.
• Collaborate with Operations to identify failure modes and improvements.
• Protect IP through invention records and patent applications.
• Support Commercial team through customer visits and technical presentations.
• Maintain knowledge of semiconductor micro-contamination requirements.
