Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field.
• 1-5 years of experience preferred.
• Training in finite element analysis (FEA).
• Experience designing welded, bolted, riveted, and bonded fabricated assemblies.
• Knowledge of material science for steel, aluminum, composites.
• Knowledge of thermal insulating structures is a plus.
• Strong verbal and communication skills."

Responsibilities

• Analyze and establish product specifications, performance requirements and data to determine feasibility of proposals.
• Conceptual design – develop functional designs with support engineers to meet performance and dimensional requirements.
• Generate Bills of Material (BOM) for prototypes and base models; prepare layouts and drawings.
• Perform Finite Element Analysis and strength-of-materials calculations to ensure structural integrity.
• Plan and develop experimental test programs; oversee testing and analyze results.
• Support manufacturing to establish or improve processes and prevent defects.
• Provide technical information to sales/marketing for training and quotes.
• Interact with vendors to evaluate components and ensure compliance with requirements.
• Contribute to a team effort to produce a quality product.
• Maintain regular attendance and comply with company policies.
