Job summary

Real is seeking an R&D Engineer II on a contract basis to design, test, and document feasibility and production processes for new or changed medical products. The role is hybrid, based in Bloomington, IN, with in-office work three days per week.

The ideal candidate will build prototypes, document final designs, assist with FDA design and specification documentation, and oversee pre-production runs while coordinating with vendors and physicians.

• Experience in medical device design or development is a plus

Responsibilities

• Design new product ideas as assigned by VP of Engineering
• Build and test new product prototypes
• Document the final product design and support FDA documentation
• Initiate and oversee pre-production runs of new products
• Plan ongoing production and coordinate with production personnel
• Collaborate with vendors and physicians for material evaluation
• Maintain design files and turn over to permanent records on completion
• Attend trade shows to source materials and represent the company
