Job summary

LG Electronics USA invites an energetic R&D Engineer to join its Home Appliance Manufacturing team in Clarksville, Tennessee. The role focuses on designing, developing, and qualifying consumer appliances from concept to production, with emphasis on manufacturability and CAD-driven design.

Responsibilities include coaching design from the customer perspective, managing resources, and collaborating with internal teams to meet project milestones.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, electrical or electronics engineering.
• Solid knowledge of SolidWorks 3D/2D CAD.
• Exposure to a variety of manufacturing processes and design for manufacturability.
• Knowledge of dimensional and tolerance standards; experience performing tolerance analysis on complex assemblies.
• Preferred experience with washing machines (not required).

$63,000 Annually

Responsibilities

• Provide design and performance coaching from the customer’s perspective
• Effectively deploy and manage resources needed to achieve project goals
• Resolve production and customer-related issues through analytical thinking and statistical methods
• Maintain continuous communication and collaboration with internal staff or teams for successful projects
• Define product goals and plan/manage resources to meet deadlines
• Design and develop products from concept through design, qualification, and production
• Use CAD models, 3-D surface models, and physical prototypes to convey design intent and feasibility
• Formulate and adhere to standards and procedures for product development

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electronics, or Electrical Engineering
• Solid knowledge of SolidWorks 3D/2D CAD
• Exposure to a variety of manufacturing processes and design for manufacturability
