Job summary

Amphenol Cable & Interconnect Technologies (ACIT) is seeking an R&D Engineer to drive innovation, new product development, and process improvements across the product lifecycle.

You will execute engineering deliverables from concept through manufacturing implementation, partnering with engineering, product management, operations, quality, and sales to meet customer and business requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering preferred; Mechanical Engineering or related discipline considered with relevant product development experience.
• Experience in a manufacturing environment in technical or engineering roles; connectors and assemblies preferred.
• Proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, CATIA, Creo) with fixture or machine design experience.
• Experience with data acquisition and analysis tools (LabVIEW, SAP, Excel), including DOE and statistical analysis.
• Strong project management skills with ability to manage multiple priorities and capital projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead multiple NPD projects through the Stage Gate process and ensure deliverables and milestones.
• Own proof-of-concept builds and support prototype development, including setup and operation of manufacturing equipment.
• Plan, execute, and document engineering activities with test data, process setups, and status reporting.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, production, product management, operations, quality, and sales teams.
• Support product testing, validation, and qualification activities; analyze data for troubleshooting and continuous improvement.
• Develop cost estimates, tooling requirements, and manufacturing documentation.
• Mentor engineering technicians to ensure successful project execution.
