Job summary

Keysight Technologies in Santa Rosa, CA is seeking an experienced R&D Hardware Engineer to design, simulate, test, and validate RF and analog hardware for state-of-the-art measurement equipment. You will collaborate with FPGA, firmware/software, mechanical, materials, and manufacturing teams to bring complex designs from concept to production.

The role emphasizes hands-on design and characterization, mentoring junior engineers, and delivering robust hardware solutions that meet high reliability

Qualifications

  • BS/MS or PhD in Electrical Engineering or equivalent applicable experience.
  • 10+ years industry experience designing, debugging, documenting, and shipping electronic hardware products.
  • Knowledge of circuit theory, transmission line theory, and high-speed signal design.
  • Printed circuit board design experience, including experience with high-speed signal integrity.
  • Experience designing for high RF output power applications.
  • Experience with CAD/CAE design tools.
  • Ability to use scripting languages such as Python for instrument control and data collection.
  • Proactive in issue discovery and resolution.
  • Good analytical problem-solving skills.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Ability to work independently and tackle challenging tasks.
  • Ability to function effectively in a team environment.
  • Ability to quickly learn new technologies.
  • Hands-on experience in using spectrum analyzers, oscilloscopes, signal generators, etc. to validate analog designs.

As an R&D Hardware Engineer, you will have the opportunity to leverage your Electrical Engineering expertise and measurement knowledge to contribute to a range of hands-on projects. You will play a vital role in our product development team, which focuses on designing, developing, and testing RF and microwave test equipment.

We seek a self-motivated engineer who thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced development environment. You will be responsible for designing and simulating analog and RF hardware designs, troubleshooting the hardware when it arrives, and working with the cross-functional team, including FPGA, firmware/software, mechanical, materials, and manufacturing engineers. The ideal candidate is equally proficient in design and characterization in a hands-on environment.

Pay Range:

USD $134,950.00 - USD $224,920.00 Year

Note: For other locations, pay ranges will vary by region. The level of this role will be based on applicable experience, education, and skills; most offers will be be between the minimum and the midpoint of the salary range listed.

This role is eligible for Keysight Results Bonus Program
