Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Computer/Biomedical Eng required or related field.
• 0-2 years in hardware, firmware, or device development (co-op/internship accepted).
• Experience with microcontroller platforms and embedded systems fundamentals.
• Strong written communication due to regulated device work.
• Onsite work in Andover, MA; eligible to work in the United States or visa sponsorship available on conversion.

• Analyze electrical schematics and PCB layouts under guidance.
• Support sourcing, procurement, and BOM management for prototypes and production builds.

Job Title : R&D Engineer (Contract to Permanent)

Location : Andover, MA; Onsite (No Remote or Hybrid)

Type: Contract (3 to 6 months), with conversion to permanent based on performance

Role Summary :

We are hiring an entry level R&D Engineer to support active medical device product development projects. You will work directly with senior engineers across electrical, firmware, and systems disciplines, gaining hands on exposure to FDA regulated product development. This is a contract to permanent position. Conversion to permanent is based on demonstrated performance rather than a fixed calendar date.

Responsibilities :

• Assist with circuit design validation and prototype testing.
• Analyze and interpret electrical schematics and PCB layouts under senior engineer guidance.
• Support component sourcing, procurement, and BOM management for prototypes and production builds.
• Troubleshoot hardware and firmware integration issues using laboratory instrumentation and debugging tools.
• Develop and maintain test fixtures.
• Perform prototype assembly and manufacturing support tasks as assigned.
• Execute test protocols and document results in support of verification and validation.
• Conduct testing activities and collaborate with engineering teams to evaluate device performance and functionality.
• Document test results, design changes, and engineering findings in compliance with design control procedures.
• Collaborate with senior engineers and quality staff across multiple concurrent client programs.

Required Qualifications :

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or a closely related field, completed prior to start date.
• 0-2 years of professional, coop or internship experience in hardware, firmware, or device development.
• Coursework and knowledge of microcontroller platforms and embedded systems fundamentals.
• Strong written communication skills, since documentation is a core part of regulated device work.
• Willingness to work onsite in Andover and learn across disciplines rather than specialize immediately.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States or willing to accept visa sponsorship upon conversion to permanent.

Preferred Qualifications :

• Coursework or project experience involving medical devices or regulated products.
• Exposure to equipment such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, or logic analyzers.
• Familiarity with version control and basic scripting.
