Job summary

Wilson Tool is seeking an Electro-Mechanical Design Engineer - R&D at the White Bear Lake, MN facility. The role develops products combining mechanical systems with sensors, controls, and software-enabled features, guiding projects from concept through launch and improvement.

The engineer will design electro-mechanical subsystems, integrate components, build prototypes, and collaborate with manufacturing and suppliers to ensure safe, reliable, and cost-effective production-ready solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, Electro-Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
• 5+ years of experience developing electro-mechanical products in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience integrating mechanical designs with electrical components, sensors, actuators, motors, controls, or embedded systems.

Responsibilities

• Develop electro-mechanical concepts and detailed designs from customer, market, and technical requirements.
• Create mechanical designs, assemblies, drawings, specifications, schematics, wiring diagrams, and bills of materials.
• Plan and execute prototype builds, bench testing, design verification, validation, and field trials.
• Collaborate with manufacturing and suppliers to ensure safe, reliable, cost-effective production-ready designs.
• Support Stage-Gate reviews, product launches, field trials, and continuous product improvement.
• Investigate emerging technologies and convert promising concepts into practical customer solutions.
