Job summary

Maverick Power is seeking a talented R&D Electrical Engineer with LV/MV expertise to join a fast-paced team driving next-generation power solutions. You will design, simulate, and test electrical systems, contribute to transformer, switchgear, and control system development, and collaborate across disciplines.

The role emphasizes hands-on prototyping, validation, and documentation to support regulatory approvals and product evolution in a high-growth environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering; minimum 8 years’ experience may substitute.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in R&D or design of LV/MV power systems.
• SolidWorks Electrical experience for control system design.
• Proven track record in designing and testing electrical components such as transformers, switchgear, or power distribution systems.
• Experience with power electronics, protection systems, and control systems is a plus.
• Strong understanding of power system components, including circuit breakers, relays, and busbars.
• Familiarity with IEEE, IEC, UL, NEC standards.
• Proficiency in CAD tools (SolidWorks Electrical) for wiring schematics and panel layouts.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills; strong communication and teamwork abilities.
• Highly organized with ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Design, simulate, and develop electrical systems for LV up to 1 kV and MV 1 kV–38 kV.
• Prototype and test power system components including transformers, switchgear, breakers, and control systems.
• Conduct research to explore new technologies to improve efficiency, safety, and sustainability.
• Collaborate with mechanical, software, and product teams to integrate electrical systems.
• Prepare technical reports, design specs, and documentation for development and regulatory approvals.
• Ensure designs meet safety, environmental, and regulatory standards (NEC, NEMA, OSHA).
• Troubleshoot technical issues in development, testing, and field deployment.
