Job summary

The University of Texas at Austin's Applied Research Laboratories seeks a data analysis and machine learning software engineer to advance R&D in environmental sciences. You will build and test algorithms, develop maintainable software, and present results to internal and external groups.

Requirements include a strong math background, 3+ years in applied research, and experience with MATLAB/Python in UNIX/Linux.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in natural or engineering sciences including CS/EE or related discipline.
• 3+ years of experience with data algorithms and ML libraries (TensorFlow, Keras, Theano, Torch, Infer.NET).
• Strong math background and experience in applied research from concept to implementation.
• Experience with MATLAB and Python in UNIX/Linux environments.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and support data analysis and ML algorithms.
• Write flexible software and tests to meet project requirements.
• Prepare technical documentation and present results at meetings.
• Collaborate with team, supervisors, and sponsors for timely delivery.
• Deploy software outside ARL and review peer code.
