Job summary

Amgen in Thousand Oaks, hybrid role, seeks a Competitive Intelligence Manager for R&D to lead intelligence activities and support multiple assets in the pipeline.

The role partners with clinical, regulatory and commercial teams to deliver insights and strategic guidance. Requires strong CI background with biotech/pharma experience and ability to manage multiple projects across global teams.

Qualifications

• Doctorate or Master’s with CI/related exp as stated in job ad.
• Bachelor’s with 4+ years CI exp or Associate+8 years CI exp

Responsibilities

• Develop and present CI deliverables for internal partners (R&D, Commercial, Legal).
• Leverage secondary sources to generate competitive insights (TrialTrove, Cortellis, Evaluate Pharma, PubMed, AlphaSense, USPTO).
• Collaborate with R&D leads to generate KITs/KIQs and conduct CI research.
• Synthesize conference data into detailed reports for internal teams.
• Understand US patent landscape for early drug development and manage CI vendors.
