Job summary

Becton Dickinson (BD) Columbus, NE site seeks an analytical chemist to support chemistry method development and validations in a fast-paced R&D environment. You will work with cross-functional teams to advance product development, ensure data integrity, and maintain laboratory equipment in a safety-conscious setting.

BS in Chemistry or Life Science with 2–5+ years of relevant experience preferred; strong knowledge of HPLC, spectroscopy, and method validation is expected.

Qualifications

• Proven experience with analytical chemistry testing and lab operations in an R&D, quality, or manufacturing support environment.
• Working knowledge of HPLC, titration, wet chemistry, spectroscopy, particulate matter testing, and related analytical methods used to characterize medical products.
• Ability to execute, analyze, troubleshoot, and document laboratory testing with strong attention to detail and data integrity.
• Strong diagnostic, analytical, technical, and critical-thinking skills, including result interpretation and method comparison.

Responsibilities

• Support the analysis and development of chemistry methods to support business design work.
• May develop and complete validations for chemistry test methods and/or equipment validations.
• Interface with other departments to ensure completion of product development and validation activities.
• Maintain complex laboratory equipment and ensure safe work practices.
• Collate, analyze, and present findings in team meetings and cross-functional reviews.
• Assist in prioritizing test plans with project leads.
