The Space and Geophysics Laboratory at The University of Texas at Austin seeks a R&D C++ Software Developer to design, implement, and maintain software using C++ in Linux and Windows environments. You will work within a team delivering multi-platform software for government customers, focusing on object-oriented design and robust data handling.
Requirements include a BS in CS/engineering, 3+ years C++ in Linux, Python with NumPy/Scipy, and strong debugging skills across the lifecycle.
Purpose The Space and Geophysics Laboratory (SGL) delivers multi-platform software suites to government customers for multiple and varied applications, from real-time data-intensive network operations to standalone remote field systems, in both Linux and Windows environments. We are seeking a developer with a solid understanding of object-oriented design, databases, and data structures to join our team. As a member of the team you will be designing, implementing and maintaining software using C++.

$104,000-$174,000+/negotiable depending on qualifications.
Regular staff who have been employed in their current position for the last six continuous months are eligible for openings being recruited for through University-Wide or Open Recruiting, to include both promotional opportunities and lateral transfers. Staff who are promotion/transfer eligible may apply for positions without supervisor approval.
The retirement plan for this position is Teacher Retirement System of Texas (TRS), subject to the position being at least 20 hours per week and at least 135 days in length.
