Job Summary

The R&D Business Process Specialist will lead projects, mentor team members, and identify innovative solutions for R&D business and IT design. This role involves collaborating with stakeholders to harmonize specification management and assist with R&D specifications for food and beverage products. The specialist will act as a liaison between various internal departments to ensure global requirements are met and will translate R&D specification needs into IT requirements. Maintaining document integrity and understanding end‑to‑end product relationships are also key aspects of this position.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead multiple projects and train and/or mentor other team members, peers and clients as appropriate on global R&D processes
• Investigate & reflect strategic business issues, researching and identifying inventive solutions relevant to R&D business & IT design solutions
• Collaborate with stakeholders and lead business harmonization for specification management
• Assist with R&D specifications requirements for Foods or Bev; raw material, formulas, manufacturing process, packaging and finished products, in a manner that an SAP out‑of‑the‑box system could be leveraged for inter‑company global applicability with minimal modifications
• Acts as a liaison with internal groups such as Product Development, Documentation System Administration, Quality, Food Safety, Regulatory, Procurement, Analytical Science, and Microbiology to ensure the it meets global requirements for each of them
• Understand key aspects of documentation for traceability of finished goods within the food industry in different markets
• Translate R&D specifications needs into IT requirements and ensure IT teams deliver system architecture accordingly. Incorporate specs process and systems efficiencies as much as possible
• Develop and maintain an understanding of the End to End relationship from ingredients specs to finished products
• Maintain the integrity of working documents and is responsible for document security due to sensitive and proprietary information

Required Qualifications

• BS or MS Degree in Food Science or Engineering or relevant scientific degree
• 4-6 years of experience with BS in CPG industry
• Advanced proficiency using various Microsoft Office desktop products

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with integrated formula and specification management software system (Product Vision/TeamCenter/SAP preferred)
