Job summary

Johnson & Johnson is hiring for an R&D Assembler II- Shockwave Medical to join our team located in Santa Clara, CA. Fueled by innovation, we’re developing the next generation of smarter, less invasive treatments and supporting the broader Shockwave Medical portfolio to set a new standard of care.

The R&D Assembler II assembles, tests, and inspects in-development products under direction from R&D engineers, documenting all activities in Lot History Records to ensure traceability and quality

Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma or equivalent.
• Must be able to read and communicate in English.
• Must be able to use various hand tools to assemble small parts.
• 1–3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment with small parts.
• Medical device manufacturing experience is preferred.
• Must be able to work in and abide by CER procedures.
• Ability to assemble and test medical devices including soldering, gluing, and amplification under MPI/SOP/WI.

Responsibilities

• Cleans workstations and performs line clearance.
• Builds prototypes, subassemblies, and final assemblies per MPI or engineering documentation.
• Performs in-process inspections to ensure specifications.
• Monitors equipment and adjusts procedures to meet quality specifications.
• Records details in Lot History Records for traceability.
• Prepares packaging and labels and ensures correct labeling.
• Records and dispositions labeling materials and packaging lots.
• Supports inventory control and communicates issues to R&D team.
• Adheres to SWMI safety standards.
• Trains on multiple processes and follows lean manufacturing principles.
