JOB OVERVIEW

The R&D Applications Engineer will be the Technical Liaison forcustomers in developing custom solutions for their Packaging Equipment & Material needs. Qualified candidates should have experience in R&D, Product Design & Development, Quality, and Project Managementwithin Flexible Packaging, Plastic Injection / Blow Molding, Resin, Films, etc.

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS

• B.S./M.S. in Mechanical Engineering, Plastics Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or Polymer Science.
• Minimum of5-10 years of related experience with a strong technical background in packaging OR plastics(i.e., flexible packaging,extrusion, thermoforming, laminating, film,and/or tooling).
• Background working directly withcustomers in understanding customer needs and creating product recommendations.
• Experience working in a manufacturing environment with proven results leading capital projects working with OEMs and suppliers.
• Project Management - Multitasking, prioritization, time and budget management, planning and executing.
• Ability to collaborate with key functions (R&D, Quality,Sales, Field Service, Analytical and Operations)to assist in troubleshooting for technical or quality related issues as they mayarise at customers.
• Ability to buildSubject Matter Expertise for key focus areas and acting as a consultant within the business for these areas.
• Must be okay with traveling to suppliers, customers, conferences, and other innovation partners.
