Job summary

Nektar Therapeutics seeks an Accounting Manager to ensure accurate accruals for R&D expenses across clinical trials and CMOs, and to support the quarterly close and internal controls.

The role partners with cross‑functional teams and external auditors to record development and manufacturing costs in accordance with US GAAP, and drives continuous improvements in accounting processes for clinical trial and manufacturing accounting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
• CPA license preferred.
• Minimum 5+ years of accounting or finance experience.
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP and SOX controls.

Responsibilities

• Review agreements and contracts to assess accounting implications and accruals.
• Prepare quarterly clinical trial accruals using terms and activity data.
• Perform budget-to-actual analyses and investigate variances.
• Manage manufacturing-related R&D accounting and accruals.
• Support SOX controls, internal controls, and external audits.
