JOB DESCRIPTION

TITLE: MAINTENANCE CRAFTSMAN

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Knowledge of good building maintenance procedures and carpentry skills;
  • Knowledge of proper painting procedures and products associated with same;
  • Ability to work with a minimum of supervision;
  • Ability to work indoors or outside in adverse weather conditions, if necessary;
  • Ability to maintain flexibility in a fast-paced work environment;
  • Massachusetts driver’s license and safe driving record;
  • Such alternatives to the above as the Superintendent may find appropriate and acceptable.

REPORTS TO: Director of Facilities

JOB GOAL: To maintain physical school properties both inside and outside in a condition of operating excellence so that the full educational and community use of them can be made at all times.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for all duties relative to warehousing and delivery of custodial supplies;
  • Responsible for inventory of all stock;
  • Assist other maintenance departments when necessary, including painter;
  • Maintains shop office area;
  • Delivers equipment and supplies to the schools as needed;
  • Requisitions supplies necessary for inventory;
  • Is courteous at all times to staff, students and the general public;
  • Perform any other duties and responsibilities in keeping with the scope of his/her job as assigned by the Director of Buildings and Grounds.
