Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent plus an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree or 2+ years in customer service or account management.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to build lasting customer relationships.

• A proactive, problem-solving approach to customer support.

Responsibilities

• Grow customer retention in your region by contacting customers about upcoming/overdue recalibration or testing.
• Prepare and send accurate quotes based on customer equipment, service needs, and timeline.
• Serve as the primary quoting contact for Outside Sales Representatives in your region.
• Use CRM to run reports, identify follow-up opportunities, and maintain history of interactions.
• Maintain detailed customer records to keep communication personal and effective.
• Track quarterly engagement and spend to flag growth opportunities and retention risks.
• Document customer concerns and report trends weekly for management.
• Route customer issues to the right teams and ensure a seamless experience across the company.

Job Summary: The Opportunity

Our customers rely on their test and measurement equipment every day, and that equipment needs regular calibration and safety testing to stay reliable. As a Quoting & Retention Specialist, you’ll be the go-to contact for customers in your assigned region; helping them stay on schedule with recurring service, building accurate quotes for new work, and making sure every interaction leaves them confident they chose the right partner.

This role sits right where customer service meets revenue. You’ll spot equipment that’s coming due (or overdue), reach out before customers fall through the cracks, and turn inquiries into well-prepared quotes. You’ll also work closely with our Outside Sales Representatives, giving them the quoting support they need to win and keep business in the region.

If you’re organized, enjoy talking with people, and like seeing the direct results of your follow-through, this is a great fit. You don’t need a calibration background to get started; we’ll train you on our systems and quoting process.

Key Responsibilities & Outcomes

• Grow customer retention in your region by proactively contacting customers (mainly by phone and email) about upcoming and overdue recalibration or electrical safety testing, and learning why equipment isn’t coming back when it should.
• Prepare and send accurate, complete quotes based on each customer’s equipment, service needs, and timeline, highlighting what sets JM Test Systems apart.
• Serve as the primary quoting contact for Outside Sales Representatives in your region, keeping quotes aligned with customer expectations.
• Use internal tracking systems and CRM to run reports, identify follow-up opportunities, and keep a complete, up-to-date history of every customer interaction.
• Maintain detailed customer records, including contacts, locations, equipment details, and service history, so communication stays personal and effective.
• Track changes in customer engagement and spend each quarter, flagging growth opportunities and retention risks before they become problems.
• Document customer concerns thoroughly and report on trends weekly, helping management address issues quickly.
• Route customer issues to the right teams and pitch in wherever needed to create a seamless experience across the company.

What You Bring

Required:

• High school diploma or equivalent, plus an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree or 2+ years of experience in customer service, client support, or account management
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with a knack for building lasting customer relationships
• Excellent organization and attention to detail
• Ability to juggle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
• A proactive, problem-solving approach to customer support

Preferred:

• Quoting, sales support, or sales-adjacent experience in a B2B setting, especially supporting outside sales teams
• Experience with technical or industrial equipment, calibration, or electrical safety testing
• Proficiency with CRM systems (such as Salesforce or HubSpot), service tracking systems, and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
