Job summary

WLS Stamping in Highland Heights, OH is seeking an entry-level Quoting Engineer to support the Business Development team by preparing accurate, competitive cost estimates for metal stamping and fabrication work. You will review customer prints and RFQs, calculate material, tooling, and labor costs, and help convert inquiries into won business.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical/Manufacturing/Industrial Technology preferred; relevant experience considered.
• 2+ years in manufacturing, quoting, estimating or engineering support; stamping or fabrication exposure a plus.
• Ability to read blueprints, drawings, and 3D CAD models or willingness to learn.

Responsibilities

• Review RFQs, prints, specs, and 3D models to define scope of stamped parts.
• Prepare detailed cost estimates including material, tooling, secondary ops, and labor.
• Obtain and compare vendor quotes for outside processing and tooling.
• Build and track quotes using quoting software and ERP to completion.
• Collaborate with engineering, tooling, and production to assess manufacturability and cost-saving opportunities.
• Communicate RFQ requirements and answer technical questions during quoting.
• Maintain quote records, follow up, and track win/loss results.
• Support pricing strategy and proposal prep for Business Development.
• Learn press capabilities, tooling design, and fabrication processes for quoting.
