Job summary

Star Hyundai in Abilene, TX is seeking an entry-level automotive technician to perform common light duty services and repairs in a fast-paced dealership setting.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma and less than 1 year of experience, with a drive to develop premium skills and grow within the career path. We offer paid training, a structured career path, and opportunities for advancement in a professional service team.

Qualifications

• Must have valid driver's license with acceptable driving record and pass a background check.
• Previous automotive experience is preferred, but not a requirement.
• Automotive school/technical training is preferred, but not a requirement.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Positive attitude and professional demeanor.
• Must have or be willing to obtain necessary professional hand tools.

Responsibilities

• Follow manufacture and dealer written procedures
• Perform routine vehicle maintenance and inspections
• Perform engine oil and oil filter changes
• Perform tire rotations, tire repairs, tire mounting, and balancing
• Replace batteries, belts, wiper blades, air filters, and other maintenance items.
• Perform brake inspections and basic brake repairs and services
• Inspect and maintain vehicle fluid levelsIdentify and communicate recommended maintenance and repairs
• Perform multi-point inspections and complete vehicle health report
• Structure and build repair estimates
• Maintain a clean and organized work area
• Complete work efficiently while maintaining quality standards
• Completing quality control inspections
• Assist other technicians as needed while developing diagnostic and repair skills from experienced technicians
