Job summary

Dal-Tile is seeking a highly skilled Quartz Surface Repair & Recovery Technician to join our manufacturing team. The role focuses on repairing, restoring, and aesthetically recovering engineered quartz slabs to meet quality and customer expectations.

You will evaluate defects, determine repair methods, blend colors, and collaborate with Quality, Production, and R&D to maximize yield while maintaining safety and craftsmanship.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in ceramic industry preferred.
• 1+ year fabrication experience preferred.
• Familiarity with tools, machines, and safety protocols.
• Strong attention to detail and quality standards.
• Demonstrated hand-finishing and repair skills.
• Identify subtle color and texture differences.
• Work independently and make sound repair decisions.
• Detail-oriented and safety-minded; reliable team member.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate slabs for cosmetic and minor mechanical defects (chips, voids, surface imperfections).
• Determine repair feasibility and recommend recovery methods.
• Perform precision repairs using fillers, epoxies, pigments, and finishing materials.
• Blend colors and textures to match existing slab designs.
• Collaborate with Quality, Production, and R&D to meet standards.
• Document repair activities and outcomes per procedures.
