Job summary

Dal-Tile, a subsidiary of Mohawk Industries, seeks a production-support cleaner supervisor to lead the cleaning crew, ensure proper machine setup, and support production priorities at the plant. The role requires directing cleaners, verifying processes, and maintaining safe operations.

You will work with line managers to schedule cleaning tasks, adapt to changing needs, and help meet quality and efficiency goals, with potential night/weekend shifts as required.

HOURS AND SCHEDULE ARE FLEXIBLE

Job Objective

This position is for an established performer that will support production needs by ensuring that the cleaning crew is working on the necessary tasks within the plant. This role will provide support to the production shifts and leadership by giving direction to the cleaners, verifying cleaning techniques, and ensuring machine set up is done properly. This team member will also help with cleaning and set up as necessary to help the plant meet quality and efficiency goals.

Duties And Responsibilities Of The Position

• Work with cleaning crew during changeovers by directing cleaning members to necessary areas and machines.
• Work with line managers and supervisors to know when scrapes, plastic changes, or other cleaning crew tasks are needed so proper organization can be done.
• Be involved in cleaning crew tasks enough to understand processes and know when something is wrong.
• Double-check production lines and cleaning work to ensure sufficient cleaning was done.
• Double-check cleaning work to ensure machine is not broken due to cleaning or is getting repaired.
• Provide cleaning crew with necessary tools to allow them to work safely and effectively.
• Dump waste hoppers and trash bins and help with general clean up.
• Be Flexible – position may require nights and weekends at times to support production needs.
• While production is running, inspect opposite deck/line to ensure proper cleaning and set up is being done.
• Work with maintenance when needed to make sure machine repairs are getting done when found.
• Answer phone calls/texts when information about changeovers, schedule changes, or cleaning comes up.
• Call Mike and Jake Lugo as needed to inform them about changeovers and other needs.
• Ensure cleaning crew is following safe practices with cleaning procedures and necessary PPE per task.
• Hold cleaners accountable by bringing back to areas as needed after double-checking work.
• Communicate to line managers and line operators about findings or needs to ensure proper cleaning.
• Perform other duties as needed.

Required Experience And Education

• 2-4 years of job specific experience or equivalent education and/or experience.

Competencies

• Demonstrates strong knowledge of technical, process, and business principles as well as industry practices and standards.
• Excellent communication, problem solving, and organizational skills.
• Spanish communication skills preferred.
• Able to multitask, prioritize, and manage time effectively.
• High level of integrity and discretion in handling sensitive and confidential data.
• Proficient using Microsoft Office Suite products.
