Job Summary:

Micron is seeking a highly motivated Quartz Clean/Bench Equipment Technician to clean quartz components and clean/repair semiconductor equipment subassemblies. This position requires collaboration with Shift Ops team members, area equipment engineers, and tool vendors to ensure efficient and high-quality cleaning and repairs in a dynamic, brand-new technology and manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct routine preventative and corrective maintenance on quartz cleaning equipment.
  • Execute all tasks related to cleaning quartz components used in semiconductor processing equipment.
  • Adhere to protocols for safe handling of chemicals and equipment.
  • Address safety or quality-related issues promptly and collaborate with partners to resolve them.
  • Help create and maintain accurate area documentation.
  • Assist in maintaining the cleanliness and orderliness of the work area by adhering to housekeeping protocols, ensuring that every item is properly stored and organized. Additionally, participate in teams focused on enhancing area efficiencies and implementing improvement initiatives.
  • Use skills in Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, OneNote, Excel) to efficiently complete tasks.
  • Willingness to assist with semiconductor equipment subassembly cleaning and repair tasks when not performing quartz cleaning duties.
  • Aligning with safety policies and completing necessary safety training.
  • Utilize mechanical, electronic, and PC/software skills to troubleshoot and resolve manufacturing equipment subassembly issues.
  • Collaborate with team members and communicate effectively to resolve area issues, improve equipment performance, and address safety concerns.
  • Capability to handle various gases and chemicals used in quartz cleaning and equipment maintenance.
  • The ability to wear personal protective gear for safe chemical handling, including respirator breathing apparatus and donning clean room garments.
  • The ability to perform tasks while bending, crouching, or kneeling.
  • The ability to see and respond to potentially dangerous situations.

Minimum Requirements:

  • High school diploma and/or GED and/or technical military experience.
  • 2 years experience in quartz cleaning and subassembly cleaning/repair for semiconductor equipment.
  • Ability to work 12-hour shifts (3 days on/4 days off and 4 days on/3 days off), progress between day and night shifts every 4 months, and adapt to different shifts and overtime as needed to support business operations.
  • Ability to consistently lift 25 to 60 pounds while employing proper ergonomic techniques.
  • Stand for up to 10 hours per shiftandwalk intermittently (1-5 miles per shift)to fulfill job requirements.
  • Required to wear designated clean room garments at all times to prevent product contamination and occasionally use PPE, including a chemical apron, face shield, and respirator.

Preferred Requirements:

  • AA degree in relevant technical fields such as Mechatronics, Electronics, or Robotics and/or 2 years of experience in quartz cleaning and/or semiconductor manufacturing equipment subassembly clean/troubleshooting/repair, and/or technical military experience.
  • 2+ years of experience in developing and modifying procedures to improve quality, area efficiency, and safety.
