Job summary

The City of Marietta is seeking an Administrative Uniforms and Equipment Clerk to issue uniforms and equipment to employees under supervision. You will track issued items, maintain inventories, coordinate orders with vendors, and assist with budget-related expenditures.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or GED, knowledge of police equipment, strong communication, and proficient computer skills including MS Office. A valid Georgia driver's license and passing drug screen are required.

Qualifications

  • General knowledge of police equipment and its usage.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills required.
  • Ability to compile and maintain records of all uniforms and equipment issued.
  • Ability to maintain effective relationships with employees and vendors.
  • Ability to learn basic measuring techniques to size uniforms
  • Computer skills including Word, Outlook, Access and Excel; learn other related applications as needed.
  • Valid Georgia class C driver’s license with satisfactory 7-year driving history; no DUI in last 5 years.

Responsibilities

  • Issue uniforms and related equipment to employees daily.
  • Maintain a list and inventory of issued items.
  • Coordinate and track all orders with approved vendors.
  • Communicate expenditures to assist with budget management.
  • Receive worn/damaged items and arrange disposal or return.
  • Drive to vendors for orders when necessary.
  • Assist annual inventory of equipment issued to personnel.
  • Perform related duties as assigned.

Job description

Rate of Pay: $17.00 - $19.41
Status: Open Until Filled

This is an administrative position that works under the general supervision of the Support Services Technician Supervisor. This employee is responsible for issuing uniforms and related equipment to employees, tracking supply and orders for items, and properly maintaining the stored items.

  • Works on a daily basis with sworn and civilian employees issuing uniforms and equipment.
  • Maintains a list of issued uniforms and equipment for tracking purposes.
  • Maintains the inventory of uniforms and equipment on hand.
  • Coordinates and tracks all orders of uniforms and equipment with approved vendors.
  • Communicates as needed with designated personnel regarding expenditures to assist with managing the budget.
  • Receives from employees aged or damaged uniforms and equipment and coordinates disposal.
  • Receives and inventories uniforms and equipment from employees separating from the city.
  • Drives to and from uniform and equipment vendors when necessary.
  • Coordinates the annual inventory of equipment issued to all personnel.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or GED is required.
  • General knowledge of police equipment and its usage.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills required.
  • Ability to compile and maintain records of all uniforms and equipment issued to employees and/or stored within the department.
  • Ability to maintain effective relationships with employees and vendors.
  • Ability to learn basic measuring techniques to properly size employees for uniforms
  • Computer skills as required for maintaining records, writing reports, contacting other departments to give and receive information, etc.
  • Ability to use MS Office Suite software including Word, Outlook, Access and Excel and the ability to learn other related applications as needed.
  • Successful drug screen and valid class "C" Georgia driver's license required at time of hire, including a satisfactory 7-year driving history, with no DUI in the last five years.
  • Must submit to random drug screen if requested.
