Job summary

USG is seeking a Quarry Production Operator in Fort Dodge, IA. This role reports to Quarry Production Supervisors and focuses on daily quarry operations, safety program support, and maintaining production levels.

Internal candidates require one year in the current department and supervisor approval to apply. Hours are Monday-Thursday 3:00pm-1:00am and Friday 1:00pm-9:00pm, with a competitive compensation package, comprehensive benefits, and potential quarterly bonus.

Qualifications

• Must pass background check.
• Must meet physical requirements (sitting, standing, lifting).
• Predictable attendance and readiness to begin at designated start time.
• Ability to work in a team and assist others as required.
• Wear PPE (hard hat, steel-toe shoes, safety glasses) and follow safety rules.
• Read, write and perform basic math for daily reports.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate quarry equipment (scrapers, excavators, loaders, haul trucks, crushers, conveyors).
• Work with computers and control screens at the quarry.
• Identify and communicate mechanical problems to maintenance staff.
• Demonstrate a strong work ethic and reliable attendance.
• Work nights and weekends on rotating shifts and be available for overtime.
