Job summary

US Aggregates, Inc. is seeking an Equipment Operator to remove overburden at our Cloverdale, IN quarry. The role uses excavators, dozers, haul trucks, loaders, and scrapers to support production goals and maintain pit geometry in alignment with the mine plan.

Ideal candidates have 3+ years in overburden removal or heavy equipment operations, strong safety discipline, and the ability to work with a team. This full-time position requires endurance for outdoor conditions and adherence to MSHA

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Preferred 3+ years of overburden removal operations.
• Preferred 3+ years of heavy equipment operations.
• Must read, write, and communicate in English; understand basic math.
• Ability to travel to other sites in the area as needed.
• Regular attendance and dependable performance.
• Ability to work with a team and follow directions.

Responsibilities

• Operate, service, and maintain heavy equipment (excavators, dozers, haul trucks, loaders, scrapers) to remove overburden according to plan.
• Maintain bench heights, slopes, and pit geometry as directed by supervisors or mine planners.
• Load haul trucks efficiently while minimizing oversize, spillage, and cycle delays.
• Fuel, oil, grease equipment and perform safety checks.
• Follow MSHA, company, and site safety policies and procedures.
• Maintain clean, stable work areas with proper berms and traffic control; report hazards and unsafe conditions.
• Participate in safety meetings and training; travel to other sites as needed.
