Job summary

SGI is seeking a Quarry Manager to oversee safe and efficient mining operations and initial crushing stages, ensuring regulatory compliance and timely rock supply for manufacturing needs.

You will lead a team of direct and indirect reports, set KPIs, and drive continuous improvement through data-driven decisions and collaboration with engineers, geologists, and contractors.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mining engineering or related field and 5+ years supervisory experience.
• Experience in mining operations, planning, drilling, blasting, and processing.
• Strong leadership, safety focus, and data-driven reporting skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage extraction, processing, and distribution from mine site with safety and regulatory compliance.
• Collaborate with engineers, geologists, surveyors, and contractors on projects.
• Develop short- and long-term strategies to optimize reserves and operations.
• Train operators and prepare performance reports with KPI tracking.
• Ensure crushing and screening plant efficiency and staff competency.
• Direct staff and equipment resources to meet operational goals.
• Conduct performance evaluations and manage disciplinary matters.
• Oversee equipment uptime and capital planning for new gear or overhauls.

This position demands adedication to achieving success and a proactive, adaptable approach to changing conditions.Furthermore, it requires a strategic assessment of all mining operation phases to guarantee aconsistent supply of rock for the manufacturing operations it supports. The supervision of bothdirect reports and their hourly personnel is an essential aspect of this role. The objective is tofoster a highly competent, skilled, knowledgeable, and collaborative team that is empowered toexcel.Essential Duties Manage the extraction, processing, and distribution of materials from the mine site,ensuring safety, efficiency, and compliance with safety, environmental, and legalstandards. Collaborate with professionals such as engineers, geologists, surveyors, and contractorsto plan and implement mining projects effectively. Developing short and long term strategies to optimize reserves and mining operations. Gather data to develop a targeted training program to improve operator performanceutilizing best mining practices. Accurately and timely prepare required reports and maintain accurate data and otherrecords as required. Ensure efficient operations of the assigned crushing and screening plant. Ensureoperators are appropriately trained, and uphold SGI standards. Efficiently manage staff and equipment to optimize operational performance. Set keyperformance indicators and achieve related goals. Effectively direct and manage staff and equipment resources to optimize operationalperformance outcomes. Establish measurable key performance indicators and drive theachievement of targeted goals. Foster the professional growth of assigned production personnel by providing skilldevelopment opportunities aligned with future career aspirations and business needs. Conduct employee performance evaluations and address disciplinary matters asrequired. Oversight of equipment availability and optimizing uptime. Development for capital request for new equipment or equipment overhauls.
