Job summary

Tilcon New York Inc., a CRH Company, is seeking a Quarry Maintenance Mechanic for the 3rd shift in New Hamburg, NY. You will maintain and repair quarry plant processing equipment to ensure production meets demand.

Your responsibilities include routine maintenance, inspections, conveyor and gearboxing checks, cutting and welding, and occasional heavy equipment operation. A strong mechanical background and the ability to work safely in a fast-paced environment are essential.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED or 3+ years of practical work experience.
• Advanced mechanical skills needed.
• Ability to carry out oral and written instructions in a safe manner.
• Ability to communicate effectively with and work professionally with other personnel.
• Ability to read English.
• Basic mathematical skills.
• Tolerate working at heights and in confined spaces.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance in a safe, efficient, and timely manner to maximize plant productivity.
• Perform workplace inspection.
• Perform housekeeping as deemed appropriate by supervisor.
• Check and maintain conveyor belts, scrapers, skirt boards, idlers, pulleys, guards and bearings.
• Check and maintain oil levels in gearboxes, crushers, and screen.
• Make sure that all guards, grease lines, etc. are put back in place and secured upon completion of a task.
• Perform cutting and welding tasks to repair plant processing equipment.
• Complete all clean up related to task before task is considered finished.
• May operate heavy equipment if needed.
• May be called upon to perform other duties and assist other departments.
• Wear protective gear as needed.
• Ability to rig, lift, and work safely around cranes (training).
• Willingness to work overtime and weekends as required by manager.
• Regular and timely attendance.
