Job summary

Atom Computing, Inc. in Berkeley, CA or Boulder, CO seeks a Quantum Theorist to advance neutral-atom quantum computers. You’ll model systems, run simulations, and help design future hardware.

Requires a PhD in a related field, strong communication, and software skills (Python, Julia, C++). Experience with QuTiP or QuantumOptics.jl is a plus. We offer competitive pay, annual bonus, equity, and full benefits.

Qualifications

PhD in Physics, Mathematics, Engineering, Computer Science or a related field.
Excellent written and oral communication skills with published results.
Technical expertise spanning atomic structure, quantum optics, and qubit control.

Responsibilities

Conduct independent and/or collaborative theoretical and computational projects that drive understanding and development of neutral atom quantum computers.
Develop and operate atomic physics simulations and translate them into high-quality software solutions.
Collaborate with Experimentalists, Quantum Engineers, Error Correction Theorists, and AMO Theorists to model results and design neutral-atom quantum computers.
Write clean, well-tested, and documented code in Python, Julia, or C++.
