Job summary

General Infomatics, Inc. seeks a Quantum Technology Subject Matter Expert to advise the DoD on readiness, testability, and transition potential of quantum technologies in a civil contract, based in Alexandria, VA.

You will evaluate quantum computing, sensing, communications, timing, and post-quantum cybersecurity; develop roadmaps; and translate requirements into actionable use cases and performance measures for DoD T&E programs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Physics, Quantum Science/Engineering, CS, or related field with requisite experience.
• Expertise in at least one area: quantum computing, sensing/metrology, communications/networking, or quantum cybersecurity.
• Experience evaluating emerging technologies and producing defensible findings.
• Ability to connect scientific concepts to defense missions and decisions.
• Experience across interdisciplinary scientific, engineering, and executive groups.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; explain complex concepts to non-specialists.
• U.S. citizenship and eligibility to obtain Top Secret clearance.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the program office's principal technical advisor for QIST in DoD contexts.
• Assess maturity, performance claims, limitations, dependencies, and security of quantum tech.
• Develop and maintain a quantum technology roadmap with near-, mid-, and long-term plans.
• Translate needs into technical use cases, evaluation questions, and performance measures.
• Advise on test methodologies, modeling, data needs, and environmental constraints.
• Conduct literature reviews, vendor assessments, and analyses of efforts across sectors.
• Identify gaps in infrastructure, ranges, and workforce for quantum tech evaluation.
• Prepare executive briefings, memoranda, and responses to senior leaders.
