Job summary

Atom Computing is seeking a Systems Engineer to translate scientific objectives into system requirements and architectures. You will integrate across Research, system development, and product programs under the VP of Research Programs, driving verification evidence and readiness for reviews.

The role requires 2+ years in systems engineering within multidisciplinary R&D or production, with strong risk management and lifecycle understanding. On-site roles with comprehensive benefits are expected.

Qualifications

• Lead requirements development and interface control across disciplines.
• Experience with V&V planning and lifecycle processes.
• Proven ability to manage risk and change in complex R&D environments.

Responsibilities

• Define and maintain system decompositions for quantum computing systems and subsystems.
• Coordinate with modeling teams to evaluate performance trade-offs and scalability.
• Develop IV&V plans, link test protocols to requirements, and track verification status.
• Collaborate across Theory, Quantum Engineering, Hardware, Software, and Programs.
