Qualifications

  • Ph.D. in physics, chemistry, materials science and engineering, or related field.
  • Fabrication and cleanroom experience with ALD/ALE focus.
  • Experience fabricating superconducting devices (qubits, SQUIDs, resonators, Josephson junctions).

Responsibilities

  • Combine in-process data with room temperature materials characterization and low temperature device performance to map key materials properties.
  • Develop ALD and ALE recipes for material interface improvement on the QIS cluster tool at the Molecular Foundry.
  • Collaborate with Foundry staff to provide scientific support for users and participate in collaborative research beyond a single lab.
  • Prepare scientific data for publication in refereed journals; present findings at seminars and conferences.
  • Maintain a safe working environment and promote safety culture within the Nanofabrication Facility.
  • Provide technical direction to graduate and undergraduate students as appropriate.
  • Mentor students and collaborators in experimental design and reproducible nanofabrication practices.
