Job summary

Atom Computing, Inc. in Berkeley is seeking a Quantum Software Manager to lead a team of engineers and scientists, balancing hands-on development with leadership to advance software for quantum computing and scientific workflows.

You will collaborate across physics and mathematics to transform prototypes into robust software and support production-grade workflows, reporting to the Director of Quantum Error Correction. Office presence is required at least 3 days per week in Berkeley.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in Computer Science, Engineering, Physics or related field; PhD is a plus.
• 5+ years of post-degree experience as a software engineer.
• Experience leading a small engineering team.

Atom Computing is seeking a Quantum Software Manager to drive innovation at the intersection of scientific research, software development, and integration. In this role, you’ll balance hands-on technical contributions with team leadership to build and support world-class scientific workflows. You’ll work across the full stack—empowering engineers and physicists to deploy software to support ongoing research and development efforts as well as helping to transform prototype software into robust and polished products. The quantum error correction team consists of a mix of mathematicians, experimental and theoretical physicists, and software engineers and this role requires interfacing across a range of backgrounds and skillsets. This role reports to the Director of Quantum Error Correction.

This role is required to be in the office in Berkeley at least 3 days per week.

The base salary range for this position is between $200,000 - $250,000, commensurate with experience. In addition to salary, we offer an annual bonus and equity in the company.
