Job summary

You will work with software engineers, experimental and computational physicists, and collaborators on programming languages, compilers, and quantum computing. Projects range from new compilation methods to building software infrastructure and integrating with quantum hardware.

Qualifications

• Experience with Python or Rust and willingness to learn tools
• Foundation in computer science or computational methods
• Interest in research or software engineering for quantum computing
• Ability to communicate ideas clearly
• Enthusiasm for collaborative work

Responsibilities

• Investigate research questions in quantum compilation and programming languages; develop prototypes and evaluate approaches
• Develop domain-specific languages and intermediate representations for quantum circuits and control
• Build and improve compiler infrastructure in Rust or Python and support hardware integration
• Collaborate with mentors, software engineers, and physicists to define goals and report results
• Contribute tests, documentation, and reproducible experiments for projects
