Job summary

The Department of Mathematics and the Department of Statistics at the University of Connecticut (UConn) invite applications for a full-time, 9-month tenured position in quantum science at the rank of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor or Professor.

The appointment may be in either department with affiliation to the other, and will contribute to UConn's Quantum Futures Cluster and AI for ImpaCT initiative.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in mathematical sciences, statistics, or closely related disciplines.
• A distinguished record of academic accomplishment in quantum-related areas.
• Ability to secure external research funding from federal agencies and/or industry partners.
• Ability to teach core courses in mathematics or statistics at undergraduate and graduate levels.
• Demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills.
• Potential to contribute to the QuantumCT project at UConn.

Responsibilities

• Conduct high-level research at the intersection of quantum science and mathematics/statistics.
• Seek external funding and supervise PhD students/postdocs.
• Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in mathematics or statistics and related quantum disciplines.
• Provide service to departments, university, and professional communities.
