Job summary

WD is seeking a Quantum Compute Nanofabrication Engineer to lead research on nanofabrication and design of superconducting qubits and QPUs. The role focuses on understanding how fabrication choices affect device performance across Al, Nb, Ta superconducting systems, with the goal of achieving uniformity from wafer to wafer.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. degree with post-doctoral experience in experimental work on superconducting qubit design, nanofabrication and metrology.
• Thorough understanding of superconducting qubit design theory.
• Experience in nanofabrication methods for superconducting qubits.
• Experience in wafer level metrology.

Responsibilities

• Lead and execute research projects in quantum computing superconducting qubit design and nanofabrication from wafer level nanof fabrication to device packaging.
• Collaborate with measurement teams to implement design and fabrication process changes to drive improvements.
• Publish papers and present findings at conferences.
• Develop detailed reports and visualizations for stakeholders.
