Job summary

GlobalFoundries is seeking a Quantum PDK Design Enablement engineer to drive PDK development for quantum device platforms, including cryogenic electronics, modeling, and EDA integration. The role emphasizes hands-on execution, automation, and cross-functional collaboration across device engineering, process, and design teams.

You will contribute to test structures, model validation, and release documentation, ensuring production-ready design collateral for scalable quantum systems.

Qualifications

  • BS/MS in Electrical Engineering or related field required
  • 5-6+ years in semiconductor design enablement or EDA
  • Strong knowledge of semiconductor device physics
  • Experience with Cadence Virtuoso or similar tools
  • Scripting (Python, Tcl, Perl) and Unix/Linux
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Responsibilities

  • Develop, deploy, and maintain PDKs for quantum devices and cryogenic control/readout ICs
  • Create device libraries and parameterized cells (PCells)
  • Support compact model development and silicon validation
  • Integrate PDKs within EDA environments and automate fab processes
  • Design test structures and test chips; validate model accuracy
  • Develop QA workflows and release validation; ensure high-quality deliveries
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with device, process, integration, and EDA teams
  • Contribute ideas for IP and advanced enablement methodologies
