Job summary

The Applied Research Laboratory at Penn State University seeks an analytical and detail-oriented Quantum & Multiphysics Research & Development Engineer to advance sensing technologies in both quantum and classical regimes. You will perform electromagnetic and multi-physics simulations using CST, assess literature, and contribute to strategic decisions for government sponsors.

Qualifications

• Proven ability to perform literature analysis and summarize findings.
• Experience with electromagnetic and multi-physics modeling is preferred.
• Ability to learn and apply CST or similar simulation tools.

Responsibilities

• Perform electromagnetic and multi-physics simulations using CST.
• Conduct literature reviews to inform sponsor decisions.
• Write reports and create slides summarizing results for sponsors.
• Assist in hands-on experimental work in optics when needed.
