IBM Research in Yorktown Heights, NY is seeking an intern to work on quantum hardware, electrical and mechanical studies to improve reliability and scale the RESCALE quantum systems. Strong hands, attitude, and a sharp mind are essential.

• Superconducting materials or qubit experience, quantitative electromagnetic simulation experience, ways to compensate for CTE mismatch under 300 deg C excursions, and precision assembly.

IBM Quantum is leading the way to build useful quantum computers taking advantage of the latest methods in quantum error correction. Scaling up these systems to the sizes required for fault tolerance will require a change in how quantum computers have been built to date. For part time roles, your compensation and benefits will be adjusted to reflect your hours. Benefits may be pro-rated for those who start working during the calendar year.
